SAN ANTONIO – The ACU women's tennis team wasted little time dispatching the University of the Incarnate Word on Saturday, whipping the Cardinals 8-1 in a Lone Star Conference match at the Mabry Tennis Courts.
The Wildcats lost just one match (No. 5 singles), but were dominating in the other eight matches, not losing more than four games in any singles set and only losing 12 total doubles points.
The win pushes the sixth-ranked Wildcats to 11-3 and stretches their winning streak to 10 straight matches. ACU is back in action Sunday in Austin against St. Edward's before heading to Las Vegas for the Las Vegas Invitational where the Wildcats will play No. 3 Lynn (Fla.), No. 5 West Florida and No. 1 Armstrong Atlantic State (Ga.) on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, respectively.
