PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. – The No. 1-ranked ACU Wildcats closed out their fall golf season with a third-place team finish Tuesday at the Marjorie Whitney Invitational at TPC Sawgrass.

Nova Southeastern – which led the tournament after the first two rounds – held on to the lead to finish with the team victory at 30-over-par 894 (310-283-301), while Barry (Fla.) was second at 903 (295-304-304).

ACU finished third at 908 (299-305-304) with Barton College in fourth at 919 and the hosts from Queens University of Charlotte (N.C.) in fifth at 920.

ACU sophomore Trey Sullivan was the Wildcats' highest finisher as he finished tied for third at 3-over-par 219 with rounds of 74-73-72.

Freshman Corbin Renner finished 10th at 226 with rounds of 71-78-77, while Alex Carpenter finished tied for 12th at 229 (76-76-77). Junior Adam Carpenter finished tied for 24th at 234 (78-78-78), while freshman Luke Carpenter was 42nd at 244 (81-82-81).

For the Wildcats, Tuesday's finish marked the 15th straight tournament in which they've finished in the top three and the 24th straight tournament in which they've finished in the top seven.
