FIRST PITCH
ACU will face UTPB in a non-conference single game on Tuesday. The in-region game could have implications on regional rankings when released. The Falcons recently fell out of the NCBWA poll after debuting at No. 24 for one week. The Wildcats are trying for their ninth consecutive win over the Falcons as ACU has never lost since the series began in 2004. ACU finished their weekend 4-2 after splitting a mid-week series at Delta State and an LSC series win over Eastern New Mexico. Over the weekend with the Greyhounds ACU hammered 50 hits –seven of which were home runs – and scored 40 runs giving them two victories via the 10-run rule. Neither of the scheduled nine-inning games went the distance as game two ended in the seventh while game three ended on a walk-off homerun in the bottom of the eighth. Aaron Oliver went 9-for-14 with six runs scored, two doubles, a pair of homeruns, and seven RBIs and two stolen bases. Will Calhoun blasted two homeruns while Bret Bochsler, Abe Williams and Travis Latz added a long ball each.

SERIES HISTORY
ACU leads the series 8-0. Since begining the series in 2004 with the Interstate 20 foe the Wildcats have faced UTPB seven times in the regular season and once in the post-season. The two teams met last year at the South Central Regional in Warrensburg, Missouri as ACU took a one-run game from the Falcons in an elimination game. However in regular season games between the Wildcats and Falcons, ACU has dominated outscoring UTPB 92-16 in the seven regular season games.

UP NEXT
ACU will return home and to Lone Star Conference play as they open a four game series with rival Angelo State. The Wildcats and Rams will tussle in a pair of doubleheaders starting on Friday at 3:05 p.m. On Saturday the doubleheader will again begin at 3:05 p.m. with all four games being heard on live streaming on acusports.com.
