ABILENE -- The ACU Wildcats moved up one spot in the Collegiate Baseball magazine NCAA Division II Top 25 poll on Monday after opening their season with a four-game sweep of Harding last weekend.
The Wildcats moved from No. 13 in the pre-season poll to No. 12 in the first poll of the regular season, which was released Monday. The Wildcats are one of only two Lone Star Conference teams in this week's poll with Angelo State checking in at No. 18.
The top four teams in the poll remained unchanged from the pre-season poll as Emporia State (Kan.) remained at No. 1, followed by Florida Southern, California-San Diego and Tampa (Fla.). Southern Arkansas dropped one spot from No. 4 to No. 5 after taking two of three games from Missouri Southern.
Ashland (Ohio) is tied for fifth, followed West Chester (Pa.) at No. 7, Francis Marion at No. 8, Central Missouri at No. 9 and defending national champion Lynn (Fla.) at No. 10.
