Wildcats KO Bronchos, 3-0

ABILENE – ACU freshman sensation Andrea Carpenter scored two early first-half goals Friday afternoon to lead the Wildcats to a 3-0 win over Central Oklahoma in Lone Star Conference women's soccer action at the Wildcat Soccer Pitch.

The win pushes the Wildcats – ranked No. 3 in the NCAA Division II South Central Region – to 10-2 overall and 5-1 in the LSC, while the Bronchos fall to 7-6 and 3-3.  ACU will play its final home match of the season Sunday at 1 pm. when it hosts Southwestern Oklahoma State.

Carpenter has now extended her ACU single-season record for goals to 14 with her two early scores to give the Wildcats a 2-0 lead.  That was all net-minder Elliiott London would need as she saw less than 10 shots from the Bronchos.  London picked up the win for the Wildcats, her eighth.

Junior transfer Ashley Holton tacked on an insurance goal with 10 minutes left in the match, her 11th of the season.

ACU is the highest-scoring team in the LSC, now with 34 goals on the season.
