ACU to give away poster honoring great QBs

ABILENE -- The ACU athletics department is giving away a poster honoring the eight
greatest quarterbacks in the history of the football program, and
they'll be available Friday night at the Hall of Fame celebration
dinner and before Saturday's 2 p.m. football game.
The artwork on the poster is a drawing by Jack Maxwell, the chair of the Department of Art and Design at ACU, and the creator of the award-winning Jacob's Dream sculpture on the east side of the ACU campus. Maxwell took photos of the quarterbacks and put together a pencil drawing of each quarterback in a timeline of when each played for the Wildcats.
The quarterbacks on the poster are Ted Sitton (1949-52), Jim Lindsey (1967-70), Clint Longley (1971-73), Jim Reese (1973-76), John Mayes (1976-79), Loyal Proffitt (1981-84), Rex Lamberti (1984-86, 1993) and Billy Malone (2005-present).
Sitton, Lamberti and Malone will be present Friday night after the department's Hall of Fame Celebration Dinner to autograph posters. Then on Saturday, Sitton, Reese, Mayes, Proffitt and Lamberti will be available to sign the posters between 1:15 and 1:45 p.m., just prior to the kickoff of ACU's 2 p.m. game against Tarleton State.
