ACU's best season in almost 30 years comes to a tough end with a 30-27 overtime loss at West Texas A&M. In the football playoffs for the first time since 1977 and for the first time as an NCAA Division II member, the Wildcats had control of the game with a 27-12 lead and less than eight minutes to play. But it all slipped away as the Buffs rallied for two late touchdowns to send the game into overtime. Once there, the Buffs got a 20-yard field goal to take a 30-27 lead, and then blocked an ACU attempt on the final play of the game to take the come-from-behind victory. ACU's finishes its season at 8-3.
