ACU quarterback Billy Malone tied the Lone Star Conference record with six touchdown passes as the 20th-ranked Wildcats rallied from a 15-0 deficit to knock off fourth-ranked West Texas A&M, 49-33, in front of a national television audience. The Wildcat quarterback threw for 388 yards and connected on touchdown passes of 67 and 84 yards to John Brock, who also caught a 3-yard scoring pass among his four catches for 160 yards. With more than 13,000 fans in attendance at Kimbrough Memorial Stadium in Canyon, the Wildcats fought off an early deficit to improve to 7-0 for the first time since 1950.
