No. 9 Wildcats head to California
ACU to play Pepperdine, in Cal Poly Invitational
MALIBU, Calif. -- The ninth-ranked ACU women's tennis team will return to action this weekend with four matches in Southern California.
The Wildcats will open the trip Thursday at 3:30 p.m. against Pepperdine before moving on to play in the Cal Poly-Pomona Invitational, which will begin Friday and conclude Sunday. ACU will open play in the tournament Friday at 12:30 p.m. when it takes on Cal State-Los Angeles. ACU will then play Northern Colorado at noon Saturday before wrapping up its participation in the tournament with a Sunday match against Cal Poly-Pomona at a time to be determined.
ACU (20-3 overall and ranked ninth nationally and first regionally) has won five straight matches going into the Pepperdine match, and in those five matches the Wildcats have lost just two match points (one each to Eastern New Mexico and Central Oklahoma) to post an impressive 43-2 match-point mark in the last five matches.
