2021-2022: Indoors – redshirt season. Outdoors – redshirt season, placed 10^th in the Oliver Jackson Twilight pole vault with a vault of 11-0.75/3.37m competing unattached.

Before ACU: Qualified for the 2021 4A State pole vault after finishing 2^nd in the Region IV-4A meet (vaulting a HS all-time best of 10-3), but did not score at the state meet. Also ran on the 7^th place 4x200 relay at the state meet in 2021 for the Gobblers.

Personal: Mackenzie graduated from Cuero HS in 2021…parents are Britton and Sara Blain. Mackenzie also had several relatives who competed collegiately: her father, Britton Blain, played golf at Mary Hardin-Baylor; her uncle, Brandon Blain, competed in T&F for Baylor and Kansas State; her grandfather, Bob Blain, was a T&F letterman at Texas Tech; her great-aunt, Diana Barrineau, played basketball at Texas Tech; and her cousin, Chelsea Hartman Yanta, played basketball at Angelo State.
