2023-2024: Indoors – competed in 4 indoor meets during the indoor season, placing 14 th in the WAC TJ.
Outdoors – competed in just 3 meets due to nagging injuries, but those included a 2 nd place finish in the
Joe Gillespie Invitational in Stephenville, where she triple jumped 40-0.75 – her first time to jump over
40 feet. Finished her season by ascending the medal stand as she finished 3 rd in the TJ at the outdoor
championship in Orem, UT, with a new PR distance of 40-6.75/12.36.
2022-2023: Indoors – jumped in 4 indoor meets, including a 10 th  place finish in the Pittsburg State
Invitational triple jump. Then, finished 14 th  in the WAC indoor championship TJ. Outdoors – medical
redshirt.
 
2021-2022: Indoors – competed in 4 indoor meets in her first year jumping for ACU. Concluding the
indoor season at the WAC indoor championship, she placed 7 th  in the triple jump with a collegiate PR
leap of 38-4/11.68m, while also placing 19 th  in the long jump. Outdoors: just missed scoring in the WAC
championship as she finished 9 th  in the long jump. Also finished 3 rd  in both the Carl Kight Invitational TJ
and the Oliver Jackson Twilight TJ.

Liberty University: In 3 indoor meets and 6 outdoor meets, a highlight was at the outdoor ASUN
championship where Luize finished 6 th  in the triple jump and 11 th  in the long jump.
Before College: at the Latvian Junior (U20) Championship in 2020, she finished 3 rd  in the triple jump and
4 th  in the long jump. That same year, she placed 6 th  in the Latvian Indoor Championships in the LJ.

Personal: Luize is a graduate of Rigas Teikas Secondary School in Latvia. Her parents are Haralds Velmers
and Zane Bormane. She is enrolled in the Master’s in Management and Business Leadership at ACU.
