2023-2024

Cross Country – competed in the first two meets of the year – the Naimadu Classic and the Gerald Richey UTA XC Invitational. Indoor track – did not compete. Outdoor track – competed in 3 meets during the outdoor season, highlighted by a 2nd place finish in the 800 at the War Hawk Classic and a 6th place finish in the 1500 at the Joe Gillespie Invitational in a personal best of 4:59.16.

Before ACU

Competed in XC, T&F, and Swimming at San Antonio Antonio Prep. In XC, she was TAPPS All-State 2 years – placing 5th in the TAPPS 6A XC meet as a junior and 14th in the state meet as a senior. On the track, she was All-State as a member of the TAPPS 6A 5th place-finishing 4x400 relay from Antonian Prep as a junior. Then, as a senior she was a 2-event all-state performer – placing 7th in the 800 and running on the 5th place 4x400 relay. She also had a successful swimming career at Antonian, as she placed 9th in the 100 butterfly and 10th in the 500 freestyle at the TAPPS state meet as a senior. She also leaves the school as record holder in the 100 butterfly.

Personal

Graduated from Antonian Prep in San Antonio in the spring of 2024. Her academic awards included: 2-time TAPPS XC All-State Academic Team; 2-time TAPPS T&F All-State Academic Team; 2-time TAPPS S&D All-State Academic Team; National Honor Society; Spanish National Honor Society; and American Sign Language National Honor Society (where she also served as Treasurer). She has been an active volunteer at her home church, St Matthew’s Catholic Church. Her parents are Laura Gonzalez and James Buentello. Lola is a Nutrition major at ACU, with a concentration on the Didactic program in Dietetics.
