Biography
2023-2024: Indoors – competed in 5 indoor meets. An early season highlight was getting 4 th in the
Charlie Thomas Invitational in College Station with an indoor PR time of 2:19.38 in the 800. At the WAC
Championship she ran on both relays – running the 3 rd leg on the victorious 4x400 relay and running the
800 meter leg on the Distance Medley Relay. Outdoors – competed in 7 meets and in her first collegiate
outdoor meet, she won the 800 at the Wes Kittley Invitational in Elmer Gray Stadium. Jess placed 3 rd in
the 800 at the Joe Gillespie Invitational in Stephenville and 11 th at the Michael Johnson Invitational at
Baylor on the 800. She finished her inaugural collegiate outdoor season by placing 5 th in the WAC
Championship 800 in a PR time of 2:13.70 – thus scoring conference points both indoors and outdoors in
her freshman year.
Before ACU: Competing for Byron Nelson HS in the Northwest ISD, at the District 4-6A meet, Jess was
the runner-up in the 400 and 4 th in the 800. At the Region 1-6A, she was 7 th in the 800 and her 4x400
relay just missed a trip to state finishing 4 th at the region meet. Her time of 2:12.66 in winning the area
meet set a new school record for Byron Nelson and moved Jess into the top-200 times in the U.S. for
high schoolers. Her 4x400 relay also set a new school record. Jess also played on the soccer team that
made it to the regional round in 2023.
Personal: Jess graduated from Byron Nelson HS in the spring of 2023. Her parents are Cindy Hart and
Gabriel Reyes. Jess has 2 brothers, Gabriel and Noah, and a sister, Alexis. Jess is majoring in Wildlife
Biology.
I chose ACU for its amazing academics and for the opportunity to get a higher education in an environment that encourages me to grow in my faith and implement it into my education and daily life.
What is your favorite thing about ACU? I love all of ACU’s on-campus cats.
