2021-2022: Indoors – at the WAC championship he won the 60 hurdles, while also placing 5^th in the long jump and running the 3^rd leg on the 5^th place 4x400 relay. Also placed 4^th in the 60 hurdles at the Charlie Thomas Inv in College Station with a new PR time of 7.88. Outdoors – had a very busy weekend at the WAC outdoor meet in Seattle – winning the 110 hurdles, getting 2^nd in the 400 hurdles (with a new PR of 52.50), 8^th in the long jump, running the 2^nd leg on the 6^th place 4x100 relay, and running on the 9^th place 4x400 relay. Won the 110 hurdles at the Wes Kittley Inv (with a new PR time of 13.80) and Oliver Jackson Twilight. Also won the long jump at the Wes Kittley Inv with a PR jump of 24-11/7.59m. Jamal won the Oliver Jackson 100 with a time of 10.33, with a wind that above the allowable. Also placed 5^th in the Michael Johnson Inv in the 110 hurdles and 7^th in the Texas Relays 400 hurdles. Completed a stellar season by finishing 21^st at the NCAA West Prelim 110 hurdles.

2020-2021: Indoors – at the SLC championship placed 7^th in the 60 hurdles and ran the 400 meter leg on the 6^th place distance medley relay, after missing virtually all of the season with an injury. All NCAA T&F athletes received a redshirt season for this year due to the pandemic. Outdoors – placed 5^th in the 110 hurdles, as well as 5^th in the long jump at the SLC championship.

2019-2020: Indoors – at the SLC championship, Jamal placed 6^th in the 60 hurdles and 7^th in the long jump. Outdoors – season cancelled due to the pandemic – all T&F athletes received a redshirt year.

2018-2019: Indoors – placed 6^th in the 60 hurdles at his first collegiate championship. Outdoors – at the SLC, Jamal placed 6^th in the 110 hurdles, 12^th in the 400 hurdles and 20^th in the LJ. He also placed 2^nd that year in the Baylor Invitational 110 hurdles.

Before ACU: Competed for St Stephen’s Episcopal in Austin, coached by former ACU All-America Paul Carrozza. As a HS senior, Jamal won the Southwest Prep Conference meet in the 110 hurdles, the 400 hurdles and the long jump.
