Before ACU: Jacob was a 3-time district champ, 2-time regional champ and went to state 2 times in the pole vault, culminating in his getting 3^rd in the 5A PV last season. In the District 29-6A meet, Jacob won the PV with a big vault of 16-6 (which placed him #19 in the U.S. last season), as well as placing 5^th in the long jump and 6^th in the 200. Jacob also vaulted for West Athletics, where he was coached by former Texas A&M All-America vaulter Greg West, who is also the father of Mackenzie West Knight – ACU’s vaulting coach.
