2023-2024: Cross Country – opened and closed the season running in the #2 spot for ACU, starting the season with a 11^th place finish at the TCU John McKenzie Inv with a 5K PR of 15:25. Then, closed the season by getting 88^th at the South Central Region race in Fayetteville with a 10K PR of 32:12. Also finished 6^th at the ACU Naimadu Classic and 72^nd at the WAC Championships run at ACU’s Zoe Park.
2022-2023: Cross Country – started the season by finishing 13^th in the Big Country XC Festival. Ran in both the Chile Pepper XC Festival and Weis-Crockett Invitational (Pre-Nationals). Finished season by finishing 79^th at the WAC Championship. Indoors - opened the season placing 13^th in the Pittsburg State Inv 3k and finished the season by placing 38^th in the 3k at the WAC Indoor Championship. Outdoors - won the steeplechase at both the Wes Kittley Invitational and Baylor’s Michael Johnson Inv, in addition to placing 12^th in the Texas Relays Steeplechase. Sustained a slight injury during the WAC Championship during warmups for the Steeplechase and was unable to finish the race.

2021-2022: Cross Country – 60^th in the WAC championships XC, after finishing 13^th in the Naimadu Classic to open the season. Indoors – competed in the WAC 5k, after placing 19^th in the Charlie Thomas Invitational 3k with a PR of 8:39.92. Outdoors – won the steeplechase at both the Wes Kittley Invitational and the Oliver Jackson Twilight, before placing 8^th in the WAC steeplechase with a PR time of 9:05.38, which moves him into the #10 spot all-time in the steeplechase for ACU.

2020-2021: Cross Country – 12^th in the Naimadu Classic, but did not compete in the SLC championship. Indoors – did not compete indoors, but this season was a redshirt for all T&F athletes due to pandemic. Outdoors – placed 15^th in the steeplechase in the SLC championship.

Before ACU: Gabe won the District 8-4A 1600 and 3200 in 2019.  He was 27^th in the 4A XC in the Fall of 2019 as Decatur HS won the 4A state title.
Personal: Gabe is a 2020 graduate of Decatur HS, where he graduated 5^th in his class. Parents are Darren and Dana Embree. He is a Biology (Pre-med) major and has been a member of ACU’s Student-Athletic Advisory Committee. He has also been active in the World’s Backyard and Green Bandana Project at ACU.
