2023-2024: redshirted both indoors and outdoors

2022-2023: Indoors – competed in 4 meets for ACU, including finishing 7th the TTU Red Raider Open TJ,
3 rd  in the TTU Jarvis Scott LJ, and ended his first indoor season placing 11 th  in the TJ and 12 th  in the LJ at
the WAC Championship. Outdoors – competed in 4 meets outdoors as well, opening the season at the
Wes Kittley Invitational finishing 3 rd  in the TJ (collegiate PR of 46-10.25) and 6 th  in the LJ. Followed that by
placing 5 th  in the TTU Masked Rider TJ and finished his freshman campaign at the WAC Championships –
finishing 12 th  in the TJ and 10 th  in the LJ.

Before ACU: Donovan was 2 nd  team all-district in basketball as a senior before having a huge T&F season
that moved him into the upper echelon of high school jumpers in America. At the Region I-3A meet in
the spring of 2022 held at ACU in Elmer Gray Stadium, he placed 1 st  in the triple jump and 2 nd  in the long
jump. His jump of 49-10.75 in the TJ earned him the #10 best jump in the U.S. for high school jumpers in
2022 and his jump of 24-0 in the long jump placed him #52 in the U.S. He later placed 2 nd  in the LJ and
3 rd  in the TJ at the 3A state meet. In his HS junior year, he placed 2 nd  at the 3A state meet in the TJ and
narrowly missed going to state in other events by placing 4 th  in the LJ and the 110 hurdles. He left
Compass Academy as the school record holder in both jumps.

Personal: Graduated in 2022 from Compass Academy Charter School, where he was President of the
National Honor Society. At ACU, Donovan is a Education major with an emphasis in HS History. His
parents are Steven and Courtney Ramirez and Cassie Stacey.

I chose ACU for the opportunity to be surrounded by like minded believers who were
willing to push me to be a better athlete every single day in training.

What is your favorite thing about ACU? My favorite thing has to be the amazing friends that have come
into my life. They have allowed me to open myself to new things and created the environment for me to
be able to grow as a person.
