2022 Track & Field Roster
Biography
2021-2022: Cross Country – did not compete due to an injury. Indoors – competed in the WAC championship in the 5K. Outdoors – placed 12th in the 10K at the WAC Championship. Also, ran a PR of 14:57.11 in the 5K in placing 9th at the Carl Knight Invitational in Nacogdoches.
2020-2021: Cross Country – did not compete in the SLC championship, but placed 7th in the ACU-Baylor Duel Meet earlier that season. Indoors – did not compete due to injury – this season was a redshirt for all T&F athletes due to pandemic. Outdoors – did not compete due to injury.
2019-2020: Cross Country – placed 59th in the SLC championship. Indoors – competed in 2 indoor meets, but did not compete in the SLC indoor championship. Outdoors - season cancelled due to pandemic – redshirt for all T&F athletes.
2018-19: Cross Country – competed in 2 XC meets, but did not compete at the SLC championship. Indoors – did not compete indoors. Outdoors – won the Oliver Jackson Twilight steeplechase, but did not compete in the SLC championship meet.
Before ACU: Competed for Aurora, CO, Grandview HS in the Centennial League Conference.
Personal: Colton received his BS in Engineering & Physics from ACU in 2022. Parents are Kevin and Pam Gates. Graduated from Grandview HS in Aurora, CO, in 2018.
