Biography
Before ACU: One of the top discus throwers in the country for the past 3 years. Chesni went to the 6A state meet as a sophomore (7th place), junior (3rd), and senior (4th). Each of those years, she would also be the District 26-6A champ and the Region IV-6A champ. She was ranked in the top-100 discus throwers in the U.S. in all three years – as a sophomore ranked #90, as a junior ranked #40, and as a senior she placed #17 in the U.S. She leaves Vista Ridge HS as the school record holder in the discus, as well as the Reg IV-6A record holder. In her sophomore and junior years of HS she also competed in running events, placing 8th in the District 25-6A i400 with a PR time of 1:05.07. While at Vista Ridge, was also a 2-year letterman as an outside hitter in volleyball.Â
Personal: Graduated from Vista Ridge HS in 2023, after being a 2-time Ridge Scholar Award winner, a Ranger Star Award winner, and a member of the National Honor Society and Spanish Honor Society. Her parents are Chad and Sherlyn Scott. Her Father, Chad, played football at Sam Houston State and was on 2 state-winning HS teams at Converse Judson. Her Grandfather, Junior Almazan ran track at Tarleton State and her uncle, Darren Almazan, played basketball at Concordia University-Austin. In HS, Chesni was active as a volunteer with the not-for-profit sMiles for Sammy and at her home church, Zion Lutheran Church in Walburg, TX. At ACU, Chesni is pursuing a Kinesiology major.Â
