Indoors – enjoyed a strong season in her first year competing for the Purple and White. Opened the indoor season by placing 12th in the Texas Tech Corky Classic 600-yard run. Then placed 17th in the Texas A&M Charlie Thomas in the 800. It all came together at the WAC Championship, as Anna placed 4th in the 800, with an indoor season best time of 2:12.35, also running the 3rd leg on the 2nd place 4x400 relay and the 800 meter leg on the 4th place distance medley relay.

Outdoors – she only ran in 3 meets due to some nagging injuries, but her outdoor season opened well with a 4th place finish in the ACU Wes Kittley Invitational 800 in a season best time of 2:11.90. At the Texas Relays, Anna ran the 3rd leg on the Wildcats’ 5th place 4x800 relay and the 400 meter leg on the 7th place sprint medley relay. A slight injury caused her to miss the middle part of the season, but she came back at the end of the year to finish 8th in the 800 at the WAC Championship, plus run the 3rd leg on the champion 4x400 relay.

Before ACU: Anna enjoyed a decorated career at Sioux Falls Christian School in Sioux Falls, SD. Her senior year saw her win the SD 1A 400, place 4th in the 800, and anchor the winning 4x400 and Sprint Medley Relay for Sioux Falls Christian. During her junior year, she placed 2nd in the 400 (in a personal best time of 57.12), 3rd in the 800, and anchored the winning 4x400 relay. That same year, she placed 2nd in the Midwest Night of Stars 800 in a personal best time of 2:13.61 and she ran at the Nike Outdoor Nationals where her relay placed 3rd in the sprint medley relay and 6th in the 4x200 in the Championship Division. In both her freshman and sophomore years, she placed 2nd in the SD 1A 400 and 800, while anchoring the winning 4x400 relay as a sophomore and the winning 4x800 relay as a freshman. Collectively, she won 16 medals at the SD 1A state meet her HS years. She left HS as a member of the school record relays in the 4x400, 4x800, SMR, and DMR.

Personal: Anna is a 2025 graduate of Sioux Falls Christian School in Sioux Falls, SD. In HS, she was a National Honors Society; Student Council Vice President; and graduated with high honors and a 4.0 GPA. Her parents are Justin and Sarah Vyn; she has 3 brothers – John, Jay, and Jett – as well as 2 sisters – Elsie and Imree. Her father played hockey at Dordt University in Sioux Center, IA. She is a Finance and accounting double major, with an entrepreneurship minor. She made the Dean’s Honor Roll in the College of Business Administration in each of her first two semesters at ACU.

Why did you choose ACU? I chose ACU because I fell in love with the Christ-centered environment that was so evident all around campus. I felt the Holy Spirit’s peace when I visited and felt confident that the Lord was calling me to trust Him and choose ACU.

What is your favorite thing about ACU? I love how many intentional opportunities there are throughout campus to grow in my faith, to grow professionally, and to grow as a well-rounded individual.
