Abilene Christian welcomed Paolo Gorme to its sports medicine staff in August 2024. He serves as the dedicated athletic trainer for the women's soccer and softball programs.

Originally from Dumaguete City, Philippines, Gorme holds a bachelor's degree in exercise science from the University of South Alabama, earned in 2021. While at South Alabama, he gained practical experience as a student intern with the athletic training staff during the 2021 football season. Gorme furthered his education at the University of Mobile, graduating in 2024 with a Master of Athletic Training. His master's program provided unique opportunities, including assisting at the 2023 Senior Bowl and the 2023 Alabama-Mississippi High School All-Star Game. Before his official appointment, Gorme was already familiar with ACU's athletic environment, having spent the spring 2024 semester as a graduate student intern with the sports medicine team. He became a Board Certified and Texas licensed athletic trainer in 2024.
