2009-10 (junior): Played No. 5 singles and No. 1 doubles for 18-12 team that advanced to NCAA Division II quarterfinals before 5-1 loss to top-ranked Valdosta State in Altamonte Springs, Fla., after win in regional final 5-4 over Incarnate Word (Joiner won at No. 5 singles and No. 1 doubles). Advanced to national QF with upset of sixth-seeded Hawaii Pacific in round of 16. Team repeated as LSC men’s champs with 5-0 victory over Cameron in Oklahoma City with Joiner and Luke Hawk winning at No. 1 doubles. Named academic all-LSC. Had spring singles record of 16-8 (3-0 in LSC), including 2-4 at No. 3, 9-2 at No. 4 and 5-2 at No. 5. He was 17-10 in doubles (3-0 in LSC), including 11-4 at No. 1 and 5-1 at No. 2. He was 11-4 with Luke Hawk in No. 1 doubles.
2008-09 (sophomore): Academic all-Lone Star Conference on Wildcat team that won LSC men’s title with 26-8 record. Upset defending LSC champ Cameron 5-3 in final with Joiner winning at No. 5 singles. Also won NCAA Division II regional title 5-0 over Washburn (Joiner won at No. 2 doubles) to advance to national tournament, but lost 5-3 in round of 16 to Georgia College and State (Joiner won 2 of ACU’s 3 points in No. 5 singles and No. 2 doubles).
2007-08 (freshman): Varsity letterman as freshman on team with 20-11 record. Won at No. 2 doubles as ACU defeated Incarnate Word 5-2 in San Antonio to win regional title and advance to NCAA Division II national tournament. Won ACU’s only point at No. 2 doubles in 5-1 loss to Armstrong Atlantic State at national tournament in Houston. Lost at No. 3 doubles as ACU fell 5-0 to Cameron in LSC final in Abilene.
High school: Three-year letterwinner for head coach David Denham at Coronado HS. Was the captain of a tennis team that went 27-2 his senior year. Joiner also was a doubles state finalist in 5A his senior year. In singles competition, Joiner was an all-district selection, while in doubles he was first team all-district, first team all-region, and second team all-state.
