High school: Completed one of the Big Country's most-decorated athletic careers in 2005 after leading Jim Ned High School to the Class 2A runner-up spot at the state tournament. Holson averaged 20.1 points and 10 rebounds per game for the Indians, capping a career that saw him score more than 2,150 points and grab more than 1,200 career rebounds. Playing for former ACU standout Hunter Cooley, Holson's senior year produced a flood of honors as he was named Big Country Super Team MVP by the Abilene Reporter-News, Texas High School Coaches' Association All-State, Texas Association of Basketball Coaches All-Star, first team Class 2A all-state, first team Region I-2A, District 3-2A_MVP, Texas Basketball magazine all-state and an all-tournament performer at the Class 2A state tournament. At the state tournament in April, Holson scored 25 points and pulled down 13 rebounds in the Indians' 57-47 semifinal win over Howe. In the final, he scored 33 points, pulled down 11 rebounds and came up with three blocked shots as the Indians lost to Kountze, 77-64. After the season, Holson scored 14 points to lead his North squad to a 117-107victory over the South in the Texas High School Coaches Association Basketball All-Star Game at St. Mary's University. He helped lead the Indians to a 104-21 record during his four years on the varsity basketball squad. As a football player, he was one of the top wide receivers in Class 2A football, teaming with current Texas quarterback Colt McCoy to form one of the top passing combinations in the state. As a senior he was honorable mention all-state after catching 59 passes for 1,417 yards and 16 TDs. Personal: 2005 graduate of Jim Ned High School. Born 10 March 1987.
