Jordan Herrod was hired in the summer of 2021 as the Assistant Athletics Director for Communications, bringing with him more than a decade of experience.
Herrod, a West Texas native, returns home after spending the last five years at Fresno Pacific, an NCAA Division II institution in California's Central Valley. He also has had stints at Texas A&M-Commerce, Lynn University and Belhaven University, where he received his Master's Degree in Sports Administration in 2015.
Herrod was voted by his peers as the PacWest Conference Sports Information Director of the Year in 2020 after his first full year in the Director role before repeating in 2021. An active member of the College Sports Information Directors of America, Herrod served on the Creating a Unified Voice on Social Media panel in 2020 for the organization's first-ever online convention, has served as a CoSIDA Mentor, and currently sits on the CoSIDAU panel.
Herrod's primary duties at FPU included media relations, graphic design, student-athlete award nominations, official record keeping, and budget management. Additionally, he has chaired multiple committees for the West Region, including the Division II Conference Commissioner's Association and the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association.
Herrod oversaw coverage for all 15 sports at Fresno Pacific, including national tournament runs by the men's soccer and men's basketball programs. He also acted as a co-advisor for FPU's newly-formed Athletes of Color Alliance, a student-run forum designed to collaborate on issues of social justice.
