High School: Three-year letterwinner in baseball and football, and two-year letterwinner in basketball. As a football player, he started at cornerback for the state runner-team as a sophomore in 2012. As a junior in 2013, he recorded five total touchdowns and four interceptions. As a senior in 2014, he had eight touchdowns and led his conference in receiving yards. He was a two-time all-conference selection, and as a senior he was a first team all-area pick.
As a baseball player he was a two-time second team all-conference outfielder.
