Biography

Will battle for playing time as the designated hitter as a senior in 2007.  2006 (Junior):  Played in 42 games with 33 starts while splitting time at third base, first base and in the outfield. Hit .345 with two home runs and 24 RBI.  Had a career-best four hits in a Feb. 24 win over East Central, and then had a career-best five RBI in an April 1 win over Tarleton State2005 (Paris Junior College):  McGuire hit .380 with 24 runs scored, 11 doubles, three triples, one home run and 29 RBI.  High school:  McGuire was an all-state catcher at Wichita Falls Hirschi High School, playing in the Texas High School Baseball Coaches' Association All-Star Game in June 2003. A three-year all-District 5-4A player, McGuire hit .552 as a senior to earn district MVP honors.  He also hit nine home runs as a senior to set a school record.  As a sophomore in 2001, he was the district's Newcomer of the Year after hitting .378 for the Huskies. As a junior in 2002 he was the district's Offensive Player of the Year after hitting .372.  After his senior season he played in the Texas High School Baseball Coaches' Association All-Star Game in LubbockPersonal:  Born 16 September 1984.  2003 graduate of Wichita Falls Hirschi High School.
