Listed as a backup at safety entering his first season as a Wildcat after transferring from U.S. Naval Academy Prep.  Signed with the United States Naval Academy in February 2008. 

2008 (Naval Academy Prep):  Lewis was the team defensive MVP in 2008, finishing with 124 tackles, two interceptions (one returned for a touchdown), four sacks, five tackles for loss, 12 pass breakups, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery. 

High school:  As a senior at Conroe HS, Lewis racked up 56 tackles, three interceptions, seven pass breakups, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries.  He also returned eight punts for 476 yards and one touchdown, earning first team all-district and all-county honors.  As a junior he had 74 tackles and three interceptions and returned 12 kicks for 517 yards, and he returned a punt for a touchdown.  He was a first team all-district and all-county selection as a junior as well.  As a sophomore in 2005 he had 34 tackles, one interception and nine pass breakups, earning second team all-district and all-county honors.
