Wildcats Take Fourth at Red Raider Invitational as Pickrell Cracks Top 10

LUBBOCK, Texas — Abilene Christian women's golf's Kate Pickrell landed in eighth place at the Red Raider Invitational as the Wildcats placed fourth at The Rawls Course on Wednesday. Jiyu Han and Alana Kutt rounded out the trio of ACU golfers in the top 20.
The Wildcats scored 32-over 896 and tied for third with 168 pars. Pickrell led the way at 3-over 219, with Han and Kutt following in 16th place and a tie for 17th, respectively. Han carded an 8-over 224 while Kutt scored 9-over 225. Pickrell ranked fourth in the field with 39 pars while Kutt tied for the lead on par 5s at 3-under.
BYU topped the leaderboard at 5-over 869, while Sam Houston's Isabelle Hurrion captured the individual title at 6-under 210. ACU returns to the course at Tennessee's Mercedes-Benz Intercollegiate on Oct. 4-6 at Cherokee Country Club in Knoxville, Tenn.
Pickrell shot 4-over 76 in the final round and was an even-par 37 on the back nine. Han was 5-over 77, while Kutt delivered the best third round by a Wildcat at 3-over 75. She was 1-under 36 on the back nine with a pair of birdies.
Kaylee Yuan tied for 30th place at 12-over 228, while Julia Vollmer landed in 56th at 23-over 239. Both scored 6-over 78 on Wednesday. Hoi Ki Lau, competing as an individual in her first appearance as a Wildcat, placed 57th at 26-over 242.
