Christian Surpasses 100 Career Aces as Wildcats Defeat Lady Panthers 3-1

ABILENE — Abilene Christian volleyball continued its hot streak with a 3-1 victory over Prairie View A&M in the Wildcat Classic at Moody Coliseum on Friday night. The Wildcats picked up their sixth win in their last seven matches to improve to 7-4, continuing their best start as a Division I program.
ACU closes out both the Wildcat Classic and nonconference play versus Stephen F. Austin at 1 p.m. Saturday. The Wildcats are aiming for their first win over the Ladyjacks since 2017 and their first in Abilene since 2016.
Senior Abby Christian registered three service aces to give her 101 for her career, becoming the second Wildcat in the Division I era to reach the triple-digit milestone. She trails Madeline Guffy, who amassed 103 aces from 2022-24. Rachel Koss was the most productive Wildcat at the service line, tallying four aces for her most since 2024.
Hannah Gonzalez and Aubrey Beaver powered ACU's attack with 12 kills apiece. The Wildcats built a .246 hitting percentage, with Gonzalez and Beaver attacking at clips of .550 and .417, respectively. Gonzalez had a hand in each of ACU's four blocks, including two solo rejections.
Annaleise Sevier complemented them with nine kills at .300 with a block, and Avery Thaler followed with seven kills at a .385 mark to continue the efficient team effort. Maddie Finnegan was versatile with six kills and 12 digs. Koss set up the offense with 40 assists, and Brennan Ramirez added 21 digs and an ace.
