Maxwell Goes Yard Again, ACU Plays Utah Next
3/10/2026 10:28:00 PM | Softball
PROVO, Utah — The Abilene Christian softball team fell 10-1 to BYU on Tuesday at Gail Miller Field.
The Wildcats (2-22) managed two hits, including a solo home run, while the Cougars (6-17) recorded nine hits and two home runs.
ACU got on the board Ari Maxwell smashed a solo home run over the left field fence for her sixth round-tripper of 2026. The sophomore outfielder from Edmond, Okla., has already eclipsed last year's team-high for homers, and needs just one more to tie the team-high from the 2024 season (Avery Miloch - 7). Maxwell now has five home runs in her last seven games.
Lindsey Oliver started the game in the circle for the Wildcats, pitching 2 innings and allowing 5 earned runs on 4 hits, Leah Meyer entered in relief, facing 7 batters in just one-third of an inning, giving up 5 earned runs. Ella Beeman provided some stability, pitching 1 2/3 scoreless innings and allowing only 1 hit, with no walks or strikeouts, while inducing three groundouts.
UP NEXT
ACU continues its spring break in the Beehive State with a three-game series against the Utah Utes, who are receiving votes in the latest National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) rankings. A doubleheader is scheduled to begin Wednesday at 2 p.m. CT, and a single game at 1 p.m. CT on Thursday.
