ARLINGTON, Texas - Abilene Christian women's basketball stays in-state as it begins a three-game road swing this week versus UT Arlington and Tarleton State. ACU looks to continue its best start to Western Athletic Conference play and its hottest entrance to conference play since the 2019-20 campaign. The Wildcats sit in second in the WAC at 8-3 following last week's wins over Tarleton State and Utah Valley and a loss to conference leader California Baptist.
ACU grinded out a 59-56 victory over UT Arlington when the two met at Moody Coliseum on Jan. 10, featuring a combined 37 points from
Erin Woodson and
Natalia Chavez. The Wildcats are seeking their first victory in Arlington since 2013 and their first as members of the WAC. ACU is a perfect 11-0 in games played Monday to Thursday this season.
The Wildcats have won their last three matchups against the Texans, with both of this season's victories coming in nail-biting fashion.
Payton Hull scored 13 points with six steals on Jan. 8, then followed it with a 27-point effort on Feb. 3. Woodson scored 10 points in each contest with 14 total rebounds.
ACU will play its first game at Tarleton State's EECU Center, which opened this season. The Wildcats were 2-2 at the Texans' previous home, Wisdom Gym, in the Division I era.
