ABILENE – Abilene Christian soccer continues its 2025 campaign this week on the road with two non-conference matchups as the Wildcats look to build momentum in their two-game win streak at home.
The Wildcats are currently 1-1 on the road, with a victory at UTEP marking the first win of the season. The first loss came at the hands of New Mexico State in Las Cruces.
ACU will open the week on August 28 against Oral Roberts, who is currently 2-2 on the season, with both of their wins being on their turf. The Wildcats last met ORU in 2024, and the Golden Eagles overpowered the Wildcats in a final score of 4-1. Julia Thasaphong leads ORU with one goal and one assist, totaling 3 points with three starts. Brianna Castleberry holds three assists, contributing to the total of seven goals scored by the Golden Eagles, and has also started all four games, accumulating 232 minutes. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m. CT in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
The Wildcats will then turn their attention to East Texas A&M on August 31, closing out the week against another competitive squad. The Lions are currently 1-2 on the season, with a game against Grambling on Thursday to even out their results. ACU's last matchup against East Texas was back in April of 2025, where the Wildcats were able to beat the Lions 3-2. Before the matchup in April, East Texas and ACU have not played each other since 2012. Mya Mitchell has two goals on the year so far in her three starts, totaling five points. Kristen Sueltz has three full 90-minute games under her belt, with one goal and her only shot. The Wildcats will play in Commerce on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. CT.
ACU will have one more road match against North Texas before heading home on September 11 to face Northwestern State at Elmer Gray Stadium.
The Oral Roberts match will be available on the Summit League Network, and the East Texas A&M match will be streamed on ESPN+.
