ABILENE – ACU Women's Soccer will be having their home opener this week on August 21 against Tulsa, with their second game following right behind on August 24 against Houston Christian. The Wildcats will have multiple activities throughout both evenings, with the home opener featuring a freshman tailgate for new students. Against Houston Christian, it's soccer's She Can Be Game, an initiative that aims to uplift women and girls, encouraging them to pursue and accomplish the goals they set for themselves.
About Tulsa
Tulsa is currently 2-0 on the season, with their first two wins being against Central Arkansas, 2-1, and Stephen F. Austin, 3-2. Tulsa overpowered Central Arkansas early, scoring both goals in the first half. Tulsa was able to overcome a deficit against SFA, with the Lumberjacks scoring in both halves, but the Golden Hurricane scored three to solidify the win.
Jordan Frederick is leading the charge for Tulsa, with three goals on the season so far, with six shots total, five being in frame. Just behind Fredrick, Blaine Schutte has one goal with one assist, with four total shots.
The last time the Wildcats faced the Golden Hurricane was in 2014 in Tulsa, when ACU transitioned to Division I. ACU gave Tulsa a tough fight, ultimately defeating the Wildcats 1-0.
Support the Purple and White on Thursday and participate in the Freshman tailgate at 5:30 p.m. CT, where new students will be introduced to what Wildcats Athletics is all about.

About HCU
After the match on Thursday, ACU will stay home for one more game on August 24 against Houston Christian.
HCU is currently 1-1 on the season, having taken their first loss against Rice 1-2 and their first win against Tarleton State, 3-2. The Huskies stayed in a deficit against Rice in both halves, while they were able to defeat Tarleton in the second half after being 2-2 in the first.
Hayden Erck currently leads the team in shots, with four, and has one goal. Three of Erck's teammates have also scored one goal, with each being from a different person so far.
HCU and ACU have a long history together. Overall, the Wildcats have five wins over the Huskies' three. The last time ACU and HCU faced off was in 2024, ending in a tie in Houston.
