Wildcats Unveil 2025-26 Women’s Golf Schedule

ABILENE - Abilene Christian women's golf will compete in six tournaments staged by power conference teams while hosting the West Texas Classic for the second season in a row, as the program released its 2025-26 schedule on Monday.

The Wildcats will compete in nine events ahead of the Western Athletic Conference Championship in McKinney as they embark on the third season in program history. ACU has recorded runner-up showings at the conference tournament in each of the past two years.

"I am excited to announce such a strong schedule for Year 3!" head coach Rob Bennett said. "Many around the college golf world have noted our ambition in scheduling and we believe that as we continue to build our program into one of the top teams in the country, we have to take steps like this to show that we can compete with the best."

Six of the Wildcats' events are hosted out of state, ranging from Arizona to Florida. Three programs staging a tournament qualified for last season's NCAA Championships. In addition to the West Texas Classic at Abilene Country Club's North Course, ACU will return to four tournaments it competed in last season.

"We will play against teams from all over the United States, many of which play annually in the NCAA Tournament," Bennett said, "and after the success we had last season beating many of those teams, we know we can be right in the mix with those programs and also make our bid for a postseason run."

The Wildcats open the 2025-26 campaign on Sept. 1-2 at the Boilermaker Classic, hosted by Purdue in West Lafayette, Ind. ACU kicked off the 2024-25 season at the same event at the Birck Boilermaker Golf Complex, earning sixth place in the field of 15 as Ryann Honea finished in second. The Boilermakers won last year's tournament en route to the NCAA Championships.

On Sept. 15-16, the Wildcats compete in The Lady Clerico, hosted by Oral Roberts at Hillcrest Country Club in Bartlesville, Okla.

ACU returns to Texas Tech's Red Raider Invitational for the third consecutive season on Sept. 23-24 at The Rawls Course in Lubbock. Last year, the Wildcats placed eighth in the field as Honea and Julia Vollmer came in eighth and ninth, respectively.

To wrap up the fall slate, ACU heads to Prairie Dunes Country Club in Hutchinson, Kan. on Oct. 6-7 for the Prairie Dunes Invitational, hosted by Oklahoma. The Sooners reached last season's NCAA Championships for the first time since 2018. Prairie Dunes ranked 25th in Golf Digest's latest rankings of America's 100 greatest golf courses.

The Wildcats launch their spring schedule on Jan. 25-27, 2026 at the PDI Intercollegiate, hosted by UCF at Eagle Creek Golf Club in Orlando, Fla.

ACU looks to defend its title at the West Texas Classic on March 2-3, 2026 in the second year of the event. Last March, Honea captured the outright title at Abilene Country Club's North Course while Kate Pickrell tied for fourth place. Jiyu Han, Marissa Loya and Julia Vollmer each tied for 11th.

"We are also excited to host the West Texas Classic once again in March at Abilene Country Club's North Course," Bennett said. "We had a great turnout last year and ended up winning the event in its inaugural year, so we are really looking forward to defending our title this season."

The Wildcats return to the PING/ASU Invitational in Phoenix on March 23-25, 2026 after placing 11th in the tournament last season. Arizona State, who placed ninth at the 2025 NCAA Championships, hosts the event at Papago Golf Club.

ACU heads back to the Sunshine State on March 30-31, 2026 for the Coach Mo Classic at St. Johns Golf and Country Club in St. Augustine, Fla. Host Furman won the Southern Conference Championship in the spring.

The Wildcats round out the regular season at Texas A&M's "Mo" Morial Invitational at Traditions Club in Bryan on April 6-8, 2026. ACU returns to the event after taking third place in a field of 16 teams last April, with Honea carding a fourth-place showing.

After being held in Arizona the past two seasons, the 2026 WAC Championship is scheduled for April 20-22, 2026 at The Hills Golf Course at Stonebridge Ranch in McKinney. The Wildcats aim to build upon runner-up performances in each of the past two years.

Honea finished in second at the WAC Championship last season after claiming the individual title in 2024. She has earned back-to-back individual berths to the NCAA Tournament.

"One thing I can say with confidence is that ACU women's golf will never back down from a challenge," Bennett said, "and I believe our schedule shows that we are ready to take the next step in becoming one of the best programs in the country."
