Final Results
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - No. 89 Abilene Christian women's golf closed out the Florida State Match Up in 13th place at the conclusion of Sunday's third and final round at Seminole Legacy Golf Club.
Sydney Williams and
Ryann Honea paced the Wildcats as they each tied for 48th place at 18-over 234.
ACU logged a 76-over 940 after recording its best round of the tournament by five strokes at 22-over 310. Each Wildcat matched or improved upon their second round performances, while four matched or bettered their best scores of the tournament. No ACU golfer shot beyond 6-over.
Florida State displayed utter dominance on its home course, finishing atop the leaderboard at 22-under 842, 42 strokes ahead of second-place Illinois. The individual top three consisted entirely of Seminoles, led by champion Mirabel Ting at 16-under 200.
For the third round in a row, No. 61 Honea carded a 6-over 78, headlined by an eagle on hole No. 9. She finished out her round with a birdie on No. 6. Williams matched Honea with a 6-over 78 showing, improving upon Saturday's round by three strokes. Williams played her best on the final seven holes with two birdies and no bogeys.
Julia Vollmer rose two spots into a tie for 56th place alongside
Jiyu Han at 21-over 237. Vollmer registered a 5-over 77 for the second day in a row, adding a birdie on No. 11. Han fired her best round of the tournament at 6-over 78 with a birdie on No. 6.
Marissa Loya ascended two spots on the leaderboard to tie for 68th at 28-over 244 with her top performance of the tournament. After finishing 13-over 85 on Saturday, she bounced back with a 5-over 77 on Sunday.
ACU returns to the course for the PING/ASU Invitational from Friday to Sunday, hosted by Arizona State in Phoenix at Papago Golf Club.
