The Abilene Christian men's basketball game at Brigham Young will be broadcast on TNT, as announced by the Big 12 Conference on Tuesday afternoon.
The game is scheduled for Friday, Dec. 19, with an 8:30 p.m. CT tipoff at the Marriott Center in Provo, Utah.
"Any time we play on national television, it is good for everybody -- our program, the athletics department and the university," ACU head coach
Brette Tanner said. "We're excited for the opportunity to represent ACU in front of a big audience."
ACU plays at preseason ranked No. 13 Arizona in Tucson, Ariz., on Tuesday, Dec. 16 -- and then faces BYU three days later. Time and broadcast details have not been released for the Arizona game.
BYU, which is No. 8 in the preseason Associated Press Top 25, went 26-10 last season and reached the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament. The Cougars boast the nation's No. 1 freshman recruit in 6-foot-9 A.J. Dybantsa from Brockton, Mass.
The Wildcats finished 16-16 in the 2024-25 season, but defeated two teams which made the NCAA Tournament: Omaha, and Grand Canyon. ACU returns
Bradyn Hubbard, who scored 10 points and grabbed 6 rebounds a game last season, and point guard
Rich Smith. Both Hubbard and Smith each started 23 games in the 2024-25 campaign.
ACU last played on a Turner family network during the 2021 NCAA Tournament when the Wildcats defeated Texas, 53-52,on TruTV, and then played UCLA in the second round on TBS.
Other times ACU has played on national television include: at Baylor on CBS Sports Network, and at Texas A&M on SEC Network (2024-25); at Arkansas on SEC Network (2023-24); at Grand Canyon on ESPNU (2022-23); v. New Mexico State in the WAC Tournament Championship on ESPNU, and v. Middle Tennessee in the CBI semifinals on ESPN2 (2021-22); at Arkansas on SEC Network, and v. Nicholls in the Southland Tournament Championship on ESPN2 (2020-21).
