ARLINGTON, Texas — The Western Athletic Conference (WAC) has officially released the conference schedule for all of its women's basketball teams, which will take ACU across the country for 16 conference games.
The 2024-25 conference schedule features each of the nine basketball programs in the WAC competing in a double round-robin format of 16 league games, with WAC members set to play an even eight games at home and eight games on the road against conference opponents.
"The WAC is loaded with talent, who are coached by really good staffs," said head coach Julie Goodenough. "With each team comes completely different philosophies and on-court strength. You have to be well prepared night after night to accomplish your team goals, plus the challenge of the different styles of play makes it really fun to scout and prepare for our WAC opponents."
The Wildcats begin their conference season at home in Moody Coliseum on January 4 as they take on Utah Valley. That is the first of three straight games at home for the 'Cats, which will be followed by matchups against Seattle U on January 11 and Grand Canyon on January 16.
Following the opening three home conference games, the Wildcats will be on the road for three straight. First, they head to Riverside, California on January 18 to play last year's WAC tournament champion, California Baptist. The following week they play a little closer to home, with road games in Stephenville at Tarleton State on January 23 and in Arlington at UT Arlington on January 25.
To close out the month of January, the Lancers from CBU make the return trip back to Abilene to play the Wildcats on January 30. To start February, ACU has two more games in Moody, with games against Utah Tech on February 6 and Southern Utah on February 8.
Next, the Wildcats go on the road for their longest road trip of the season. First, they head to Seattle on February 13 to take on the Seattle U Redhawks. Second, the 'Cats head to Cedar City, Utah to take on Southern Utah. Then to close out the road trip, ACU stays in Utah to play Utah Tech in St. George.
To finish out the conference slate at home, the Wildcats will take on two in-state rivals. First, the Wildcats will take on I-20 rival Tarleton State on February 27, then they will play UT Arlington on March 1.
To wrap up WAC play, the program will be on the road. The team will first travel to Provo, Utah to play Utah Valley. ACU will close out the 2024-25 regular season on March 8 in Phoenix, Arizona, playing Grand Canyon.
Official start times and broadcast designations for all WAC regular-season conference basketball games will be determined at a later date.
All conference-controlled basketball broadcasts will air live on an ESPN platform as part of the WAC's media rights agreement with ESPN. Any basketball broadcasts from the conference portion of the schedule that are not aired on a linear network will be available on ESPN+.
