Baseball Releases 2025 Season Schedule

ABILENE – The ACU Baseball team has released its 2025 season schedule, promising fans an action-packed spring filled with exciting non-conference games, competitive WAC matchups, and opportunities to see the Wildcats dominate in a new first class baseball stadium, set to make its grand opening mid-February. With a strong roster and ambitious goals, the Wildcats are ready to make their mark on the 2025 Baseball season.

"Each year we try our best to put together a very competitive schedule to challenge our players and allow our program to continue to grow," said head coach Rick McCarty. "With our program's growth, conference realignment and the uncertainty with construction, it was very challenging to get things aligned, but we are excited about how the 2025 schedule came together."

The journey begins with a three-game series against Reigning Big Ten Champions Illinois, February 14–16, at Whataburger Field in Corpus Christi. This opening series will provide an early test for ACU against a Big Ten opponent in a neutral-site environment, offering an opportunity to set the tone for the season.

On their way home from Corpus Christi, your Wildcats will stop in San Antonio to face UIW in a midweek match up on February 18.

The Grand Opening of a new stadium along with The Wildcats' home opener is set for February 21–23, with a four-game series against Youngstown State. The Penguins visit Abilene for a weekend series that includes a Saturday doubleheader. The Penguins last trip to Abilene was on Feb 29, 2020.

Another marquee matchup follows on February 26, as ACU takes on Oklahoma State in Cleburne, Texas at the Railroaders Stadium. This neutral-site game has the Wildcats against one of the top programs in the Big 12 and serves as a key highlight of the non-conference schedule. You can buy tickets to the matchup in Cleburne can be found here.

ACU continues its non-conference slate with a three-game series at home against Arkansas-Pine Bluff (UAPB) from February 28 to March 2.

On March 5, the Wildcats head to Globe Life Park in Arlington for a showdown with Wichita State. This game at the home of the Texas Rangers offers a unique venue for fans to see the Wildcats compete against a strong non-conference opponent. Visit mlb.tickets.com to buy your tickets now.

The Wildcats return to Abilene to host Prairie View A&M from March 7–9.

The final Non Conference series is on the road with a three-game series against Sam Houston State, March 14–16, in Huntsville. Sam Houston, now in Conference USA, will offer strong competition before WAC play begins for your Wildcats.

ACU's first home conference series is against Reigning WAC Champions, Grand Canyon University, March 21–23. The Lopes made an NCAA Regional appearance in 2024. Your Wildcats are calling this weekend the "Grand Opening" of their new stadium and are excited to offer many community events during this crucial series leading into conference play.

In March 28–30, the Wildcats hit the road to face Utah Valley in a three-game series. This will be one of ACU's longest road trips of the season and marks the first out-of-state journey for the Wildcats.

April brings another exciting home series as ACU hosts Sacramento State from April 4–6. The Hornets are known for their competitive edge, making this a pivotal matchup for the Wildcats in their push for WAC standings.

The Wildcats remain at home for a series against Utah Tech from April 11–13. This weekend offers another chance for ACU to showcase its talent in front of its home crowd and gain conference victories.

A brief homestand ends with a midweek game against UIW on April 15 before the Wildcats head to Arlington for a three-game series against UT-Arlington from April 17–19.

One of the season's most anticipated matchups takes place on April 21 when ACU welcomes Texas Tech to the new stadium. The Wildcats will then travel to Lubbock the following day for the back end of this home-and-home series, providing an exciting opportunity to compete against one of the top programs in the country.

The Wildcats hit the road again from April 25–27 for a series against Seattle. This West Coast trip presents a new challenge as ACU looks to solidify its position in the WAC standings during the final month of the regular season.

In May, ACU welcomes Big Ten opponent Indiana for a three-game series from May 2–4. This will be one of the final non-conference matchups of the season and an excellent opportunity for the Wildcats to test themselves against high-caliber competition.

"We are very excited to host Indiana University for the first time in program history for a three game series in May," said McCarty.

The regular season home schedule concludes with a three-game series against Tarleton, May 9–11. This in-state rivalry will provide an exciting finale for fans in Abilene.

The Wildcats finish the regular season on the road with a three-game series against Cal Baptist from May 15–17. This series will serve as a final tune-up before the WAC Conference Tournament, set to begin May 20 in Mesa, Arizona.

"Overall, we have 30 home games as we open up our new ballpark," said McCarty. "35 percent of our games are against teams that finished in the top 100 in RPI in 2024, with ten games against Power 5 opponents, so our guys will be challenged throughout the schedule. Once again, we will play 30 Western Athletic Conference games in 2025.  Last year, we finished 2nd in the league with 18 wins, so hopefully we can take another step forward this spring."
