ABILENE — Originally from Cochiti, New Mexico,
Natalia Chavez is one of the newest additions to ACU Women's Basketball. Despite only being a junior, the transfer from New Mexico has had a ton of experience on the court, and also off the court.
In this feature Chavez talks about her experience off the court playing a role in the Netflix Original film, Rez Ball, directed by Sydney Freeman and produced by NBA legend Lebron James, among other producers. Along with talking about her movie set experience, she talks about a viral moment from her junior year of high school. Chavez hit a half-court shot to help her high school, Volcano Vista, to win a state championship. The shot also gave her national attention, earning a spot on SportsCenter Top 10, and even her earning an nomination for an ESPY.
