ABILENE – Abilene Christian recognizes its seniors and alumni on Sunday as the Wildcats take on Tarleton State at 5 p.m. in the first Western Athletic Conference home game of the season.
The Wildcats honor

ACU is 6-4-1 overall and 1-1 in the WAC.
Tarleton State comes in at 4-5-3 on the season and 1-0-1 in league play.
ACU Storylines
SENIOR SALUTE: ACU will recognize Jordan Miche,
Hannah Gage,
Jazilyn Torres and
Lily Foster. Foster is a goalkeeper from Couer d'Alene, Idaho. She is a two-time Academic All-Conference and started 16 matches in 2021 with two shutouts. Gage is a defender from Waco. She is a two-time Academic All-Conference and has one goal and one assist in her career. Michie has twice been Academic All-Conference and has eight career goals and four assists. She is a forward from Palmyra, Utah. Torres, a midfielder from Austin, is a two-time Academic All-Conference. She has one assist this season and has started all 11 games.
WIN: Abilene Christian got its first WAC win last Sunday with a 2-0 victory at Stephen F. Austin. The Cats were winless in 11 WAC contests last season and snapped a 13-game conference winless streak.
CHAYSE IS ON: ACU forward
Chayse Thorn has 11 goals this season and all have come in five games. She had a hat trick against Texas-Permian Basin and braces against Texas Southern, Nicholls, Prairie View and Stephen F. Austin. She also has a pair of assists. Thorn is tied for the WAC lead with 11 goals and leads the WAC with 2.18 points per game.
WINNER WINNER: Chayse Thorn is leading the nation in game-winning goals with five.
Peyton Hill has the only other game-winner this season for the Wildcats.
GOALS: While
Chayse Thorn leads the team with 11 goals, ACU has six other players who have put the ball in the net this season.
Taylor Denn has three goals, followed by
Peyton Hill and
Amelia Leggett with two each.

ON THE ASSIST: Nine Cats have assists this year led by

KEEPS: ACU is 17th nationally in shutout percentages with shutouts in 64 percent of its games.
Lili Ross and
Savanna Alba both have solo shutouts. Ross has been in on four others while Alba and
Julia Herges have minded the net on three other combined shutouts.
BACKLINE: ACU has been tough on the back line. The defenders have allowed just three shots on goal in WAC games.
McCarly Holloman and
Macie Stephens have earned WAC Defensive Player of the Week honors this season.
LAST MEETING: ACU got a goal from
Jordan Michie off of a corner kick assist by
Taylor Denn for a 1-1 tie against Tarleton State last season in Stephenville.
Scouting the Texans
- Tarleton State is 4-5-3 overall and 1-0-1 in the WAC after a 1-0 win at Texas Rio Grande Valley last weekend.
- Rylee Low leads the Texans with four goals and Mila Bettinelli has three.
- Four TSU players lead the team with two goals apiece: Jenaya Brown, Jaycie Bass, Avery Harr and Adriana Alonso-Gomez.
- Mikayla Kendall is TSU's top keeper with a 1.80 goals allowed average with 77 saves.
