Burleson Continues Impressive Week at Tech

LUBBOCK, Texas – Zoe Burleson, one day after an impressive day at Abilene Christian's home meet, continued her impressive week with a strong showing in Texas Tech's Corky/Crofoot Shootout on Friday.
Burleson beat a field that included throwers from Tech and Oklahoma with a discus throw of 187 feet, 9 inches. The throw is the second-best in ACU history and registers at No. 8 in the NCAA West Region and No. 15 in the nation.
Kaitlyn Callaway threw the javelin 137-10 on Saturday to finish in fourth place.
Nathanial Collier had a throw of 183-6 in the men's discus for fifth place while Athan Huelskamp's best throw of the meet measured 165-4.
Next up for the Wildcats are the WAC Championships in Nacogdoches May 11-13.
