ACU Caps Perfect Weekend with Walk-Off

ABILENE – Abilene Christian posted two four-run innings early and got a walk-off 10-9 win on a Maddox Miesse single on Sunday over Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, capping a perfect weekend.

ACU wrapped two wins over the Islanders around a Power-5 win over Nebraska.

Miller Ladusau got the offense going in the first inning with a two-run home run, followed by a sacrifice fly by Miesse and an RBI infield single by Crew Parke for the 4-0 lead.

Chance Reisdorph homered for the Islanders in the top of the second but the Wildcats added four more in the second. After driving in two runs with a single, Logan Britt stole second and third before scampering home on a wild pitch. Grayson Tatrow added a solo home run for the 8-1 lead.

TAMU-CC chipped away at the lead and clawed to within 8-7 before Bash Randle came through with an RBI double in the eighth to make it 9-7.

The Islanders tied the game in the top of the ninth.

Tatrow was hit by a pitch to start the ninth, moved to second on an error and third on a balk before crossing the plate with the game-winning run on Miesse's single into left-center.

Blake Anderson picked up the win in relief to improve to 4-0.

Tatrow, Britt and Garrett Williams had two hits each to pace the ACU 11-hit offense.

The 22-6 Wildcats return to action Tuesday at Texas Tech.
