ABILENE – Abilene Christian picked up its third Power-5 win on Saturday, popping the Cornhuskers of Nebraska, 5-3.
The Wildcats added the Big 10 foe to its hit list, which also includes Oklahoma and Baylor.
Nebraska scored first on an RBI single by Max Anderson in the top of the first.
ACU got on the scoreboard in the third inning with an RBI single by
Garrett Williams, an RBI fielder's choice by
Miller Ladusau and a two-run double by
Grayson Tatrow to take a 4-1 lead.
Crew Parke scored on an outfield error in the fourth for a 5-1 lead.
Anderson added a two-run home run for the Cornhuskers in the seventh.
Breck Eichelberger got the start on the mound and allowed just one run over his 5.1 innings to improve to 4-0 on the season. He fanned seven.
Zach Smith recorded his second save after allowing one hit and picking up one strikeout in a scoreless ninth.
Nebraska limited ACU to six hits with
Holden Rook adding a double to go with singles by
Maddox Miesse and
Logan Britt.
ACU moved to 21-6 on the season and finishes the weekend with Texas A&M-Corpus Christi in a 1:05 p.m. contest on Sunday.
