
Throwers and Multis Finish Strong in Kansas

TOPEKA, Kan. – Tyler Richardson posted a school top-10 distance in the shot put Saturday in the Washburn Open.
Richardson registered a throw of 58 feet, 4 inches to put his name into the No. 10 spot for Abilene Christian University in indoor shot put. Athan Huelskamp was seventh at 52-6.5.
Zoe Burleson finished third in the women's shot put with a toss of 45-7.75.
Jessica Campbell finished seventh in the pentathlon with 3158 points, followed by Skylar Harris in ninth with 2987, Natalie Poe in 10th with 2980 and Hannah Foster with 2858.
Campbell won the shot put with a throw of 37-5.25 for 622 points. She was ninth in the 60M hurdles at 9.76 for 758 points and scored 678 points in the high jump, clearing 5-1. Campbell's long jump of 15-7 earned her 492 points. Campbell ran the 800 meters in 2:36.95 for 608 points.
Harris was fourth in the shot put at 33-11.25 for 552 points, finished the 60M hurdles in 10.64 seconds for 597 points and picked up 644 points when she cleared 4-11.75 in the high jump. In the long jump, Harris cleared 16-3 for 546 points. Her 2:33.66 time was good for 648 points.
Poe scored 686 points in the 60M hurdles in 10.14 seconds. She cleared the high jump bar at 5-1 for 678 points and added 496 points with a shot put of 31-1.75. Poe scored 495 points with a long jump of 15-7.5 and 625 points with a time of 2:35.55 in the 800.
Foster placed eighth in the 60M hurdles at 9.74 for 761 points. She cleared 4-4.75 in the high jump for 449 points. Foster picked up 469 points for her shot put of 29-9.25. Foster long jumped 16-1.75 for 538 points and ran the 800 in 2:34.18 for 641 points.
Ethan Christian was 15th in the heptathlon with 4151 points, tumbling nine spots after a no-height in the pole vault. Christian ran the 60M hurdles in 8.67 points for fifth place and 820 points. He scored 689 points in the 1000 meters, finishing in 2:57.52.
In Friday's action, Athan Huelskamp placed second with a weight throw of 60 feet, 7.75 inches to put his name in seventh place on ACU's Top 10 list. Richardson came up with a throw of 58-2 for fourth.
On the men's first day of the heptathlon, Christian scored 2642 points and stands in sixth place. He placed third in the 60 meters at 7:13 for 837 points, sixth in the long jump at 6.590 meters for 767 points, eighth in the shot put at 10.82 meters for 535 points and 15th in the high jump at 1.71 meters for 552 points.
Kailey Roskop finished third in the women's weight throw at 52-10.25 and Burleson was 12th at 49-3.75.
"It was a great meet," said ACU Head Coach Jerrod Cook. "Every thrower had a personal record. What I was really looking for was a mindset of being prepared. I had great expectations for that and they all delivered."
The track team splits the squad next weekend at the Gorilla Invitational at Pittsburg State and Texas Tech's Jarvis Scott Open.

Poe scored 686 points in the 60M hurdles in 10.14 seconds. She cleared the high jump bar at 5-1 for 678 points and added 496 points with a shot put of 31-1.75. Poe scored 495 points with a long jump of 15-7.5 and 625 points with a time of 2:35.55 in the 800.
Foster placed eighth in the 60M hurdles at 9.74 for 761 points. She cleared 4-4.75 in the high jump for 449 points. Foster picked up 469 points for her shot put of 29-9.25. Foster long jumped 16-1.75 for 538 points and ran the 800 in 2:34.18 for 641 points.
Ethan Christian was 15th in the heptathlon with 4151 points, tumbling nine spots after a no-height in the pole vault. Christian ran the 60M hurdles in 8.67 points for fifth place and 820 points. He scored 689 points in the 1000 meters, finishing in 2:57.52.
