ABILENE – The Western Athletic Conference on Monday named Abilene Christian's Payton Hull its Women's Basketball Newcomer of the Week.
Hull, a freshman guard from Peaster, Texas, averaged 19.5 points and 4.5 rebounds last week. Hull recorded 34 points and seven rebounds in a win over Navy. Hull's 34 points and nine three-pointers, hitting 9 of 16 from the perimeter, tied for ACU's DI-era record that was set during the 2022-23 season.
"She was shot-ready," said ACU Head Coach Julie Goodenough. "For her to do that in her fifth college game is really impressive."
