Wildcat golf headed to Nevada for WAC Championships

BOULDER CITY, Nev. – The ACU men's golf team is set to take part in their first-ever Western Athletic Conference Championship this week, playing one round each day for three days. The tournament will be held at Boulder Creek Golf Course in Southern Nevada, with the first 18 holes coming on Friday, April 29.
"We are excited about our first WAC Championship event. This is a strong conference for golf and we'll have to be in top form to vie for the top spot. We've been playing well leading up to the event so I am confident that the guys will bring their best this week," head coach Tom Shaw said. "This is the most talented team we've had, and we have a strong group of veteran leaders. If we are good mentally and adapt quickly to the unique conditions in the desert, we'll be pleased with how we finish."
PRE-CHAMPIONSHIP POLLS
Sam Houston received 10 of 12 first-place votes and was selected as the favorite to win the 2022 Western Athletic Conference men's golf title in the vote of the league's head coaches. Abilene Christian was picked fifth.

Desert Hawk (front nine)

Coyote Run (back nine)
Coyote Run 9 welcomes golfers with wide, lush fairways allowing for excellent playability and total comfort. With many arroyos meandering through the 9 holes, some of the most errant shots leave golfers with continuous scoring opportunities. While hosting a par 5 reaching from 635 to 500 yards, these 9 holes also offer a high degree of difficulty. Through smooth, subtle elevation changes and yards and yards of scenic natural landscape, Coyote Run offers golfers wonderful scenery and numerous golfing challenges.
