ABILENE, Texas – The Abilene Christian track and field team took part in the HSU Invitational on Thursday, picking up nine first place finishes in just 12 events. Jessica Campbell was ACU's best individual at the meet, while the distance squads continued their strong season.Â

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Jessica Campbell turned in a huge day for the Purple and White, picking up first in the 200 (25.72), the 100-meter hurdles (16.23), the javelin (41.21m/135' 2"), and a share of first in the high jump (1.58m/17' 4"). She added a third-place finish (5.12m/16' 9 ¾") in the long jump, and her performances in the 200 and the javelin are both a lifetime best.Â
- Breonna McCarthy-Reese gave ACU another top finish in the 800, doing so with a PR time of 2:21.47. Georgina Balderas came in seventh (2:47.43) in the same event while adding a lifetime-best (5:42.02) in the 1500.Â
- Balderas was part of a Wildcat group that turned in four of the top seven spots in the 1500, with Tessa Holderman winning the event with a time of 4:54.02. Ariana Trevino came in third (5:14.93), while Coldicott (5:25.24) picked up fifth.Â
- Kyla Peoples picked up a share of first in the high jump, matching Campbell's 1.58m (17' 4").Â
- Payton Kirk posted a new lifetime best in the pole vault, winning the event with a clearance of 3.80m (12' 5 ½"). Â
- Joseph Baluti came in third in the men's 100, doing so with a time of 11.17, while Gabe Laskey's 52.06 was good enough for third in the 400.Â
- The men's distance squad again dominated the 1500, as Garrison Shindler (3:59.40) picked up first place as ACU took the top seven spots in the event.Â
- Cole Newman and J.J. Ply each cleared 4.75m (15' 7") in the men's pole vault to tie one another for first.Â
