Softball welcomes Texas Tech to Poly Wells Field

ABILENE - Coming off of a tough weekend on the road, the Wildcats return to Poly Wells Field where they will welcome the Red Raiders of Texas Tech for a single game on Wednesday night.  This will be the 11th meeting between the programs and their first in Abilene since the Wildcats earned an 11-10 win during the 2018 season.

Last Time Out

Wildcats Storylines (19-23, 10-8 WAC)

  • ACU is coming off three losses at Tarleton where the team struggle to get their offense going. Since scoring 16 runs in a win over Lamar, the tam has totaled just eight runs over their next five games.
  • Riley White had a big weekend at the plate for the Wildcats hitting the first two homeruns of her Wildcat career and accounting for three of the five runs scored last weekend. White also provided 4.2 scoreless innings in relief on the weekend.
  • Sydney Kaiser was another bright spot for ACU last weekend going 5-9 at the plate this past weekend. 

Scouting the Red Raiders (21-20, 4-8 WAC)

  • Texas Tech is coming off of a series win at Iowa State last weekend, both of their wins coming in run-rule fashion. The team is 2-0 against the WAC on the year with wins over California Baptist and Tarleton.
  • The team is hitting .264 on the year led by Payton Jackson batting .360 and slugging .640. Arianna Villa lead the team with six homeruns while Ellie Bailey leads the way with 18 RBI.
  • The pitching staff holds a 4.53 ERA led by Kendall Fritz who lead the team in era (3.07) appearances (24) and innings pitched (102.2).
