Wildcats are on the road to Huntsville for weekend series

ABILENE - After a series sweep of Tarleton at home last weekend, the Wildcats will head on the road for another WAC series at Sam Houston. The team will head to Huntsville for three games, a doubleheader on Friday night and a single game on Saturday, looking to hold their division lead.

Last Time Out

Wildcats Storylines (15-14, 6-3 WAC)

  • After a series win over the Texans, the Wildcats moved into first place in the Southwest Division of the WAC standings. Both Tarleton and SFA also have .667 winning percentages in conference play, but ACU holds a half game lead since they have played more league games.
  • Avery Miloch and Miranda Lista each had solid weekends against the Texans. Miloch notched her fifth homerun of the year as well as her third four-RBI game while Lista drove in four runs for her first multi-RBI game of her career.
  • Sidney Holman-Mansell is coming off a solid weekend where she opened with a complete game shutout of the Texans. 
  • The Wildcats are 7-17 all-time against the Bearkats with their last win coming in 2018 when they took the series 2-1. 

Scouting the Bearkats (9-21, 3-3 WAC)

  • The Bearkats have been on either side of sweep through two conference series. The team opened league play with a sweep of Lamar before falling in the same fashion on the road at Tarleton. 
  • As a team, Sam Houston is hitting .231 coming into the series with Brodie Quinlan leading the way with a .295 average and Elia Hebel leads the team with seven homeruns on the year.
  • Mika Vento leads the Bearkats with a 3.58 ERA and has a 4-9 record in 18 appearances.
