The AUSL is a professional softball league that is an evolution of the AU Pro Softball Championship Season, launched in 2020 and now known as the AUSL All-Star Cup. This season four teams traveled around the country playing against each other in a variety of locations.Â
The league broke the record for largest crowd at a softball game in the state of Texas when more than 6,500 fans showed up at Dell Diamond, home of the Round Rock Express - the Triple-A minor league affiliate of the Texas Rangers.
Koons was hired as ACU's head coach in June 2024, and helped lead the Wildcats to the WAC Softball Tournament after a two-year absence. ACU was predicted to finished eighth in the league, but launched themselves to a tie for fourth.
